C & A stellt erstmalig ein wiederverwertbares T-Shirt vor, das nach seiner Nutzung keinen Abfall produziert. So geht nachhaltig
"Es ist uns wichtig als Global Player, neue innovative Wege zu bestreiten, die respektvoll im Einklang mit Umwelt und Gesellschaft sind. Die biologisch abbaubaren T-Shirts können nach ihrer Nutzung wieder dem natürlichen Kreislauf zugeführt werden", sagt You Nguyen, Director of Womenswear Division bei C&A. Getreu dem Motto "Designed to be recycled" launcht C&A zwei T-Shirt Styles für Damen in 17 unterschiedlichen Farben, die aus biologischer Baumwolle hergestellt werden und wiederverwertbar sind. "Man kann sie geradewegs auf den Kompost werfen", so Nguyen. Kein Mist, diese Shirts sind biologisch abbaubar. Nach elf Wochen auf dem Kompost zerlegt sich die Biobaumwolle in Nährstoffe.
Superstoff mit Auszeichnung
Die bunten T-Shirts sind die ersten "Cradle to Cradel Certified" (dt. Von der Wiege in die Wiege) Kleidungsstücke mit Gold-Level-Zertifizierung. Das unabhängige Zertifizierungsinstitut "Cradle to Cradle Certified Products Innovation" hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, Produkte und Materialien auf ihre Gesundheits- und Umweltsicherheit sowie nachhaltige Produkionsprozesse zu bewerten. Faktoren wie Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien, Klimaschutz, nachhaltige Wasserwirtschaft und soziale Fairness werden unter anderem dabei berücksichtigt. Je nach Ergebnis erhalten die Produkte ein Zertifikat mit Bascic-, Bronze-, Silber-, Gold- und Platin-Level verliehen.
